We look forward to meeting you here at VIT.It was established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, and was founded in 1984 as a self-financing institution called the Vellore Engineering College. The Union Ministry of Human Resources Development conferred University status on Vellore Engineering College in 2001. The University is headed by its founder and Chancellor, Dr. G. Viswanathan, a former Parliamentarian and Minister in the Tamil Nadu Government. In recognition of his service to India in offering world class education, he was conferred an honorary doctorate by the West Virginia University, USA. Mr.Sankar Viswanathan, Dr.Sekar Viswanathan and Mr.G.V. Selvam are the Vice-Presidents; Dr. Anand A. Samuel is the Vice-Chancellor and Dr. S. Narayanan is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor.

Eligibility Criteria for VITEEE 2020

Nationality

The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National / PIO.

Foreign Candidates studied/studying abroad can apply directly through foreign category only. A separate application form is made available. Kindly check our website for details

 Age Limit

Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1998 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2020. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic. Candidates should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling, failing which they will be disqualified.

 Qualifying Exam

Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2020 should have secured minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying exam (+2/Intermediate).

The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be minimum aggregate of 50% for the 

Candidates belonging to SC/ST

  1. Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
  2. CERTIFICATE TO PROVE COMMUNITY / NATIVITY should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.

Application Procedure(Online) Valid email address and a working mobile number. Valid Netbanking Account/ Credit/ Debit card or Paytm Account. Scanned files (jpg format) of your photograph (3.5 cm width x 4.5 cm height; 10-200 kB) and signature (3.5 cm width x 1.5 cm height; 10-200 kB) Enter all the relevant details carefully. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number (For Indians) for verification. Once OTP is validated, a password will be sent to your registered email address. All the VITEEE communications will be sent to your registered email address and mobile number. Request for change of Registered mobile number / e-mail address / Corresponding Address will not be entertained under any circumstances. Login with the registered email address and the password received from VIT. Fill in the relevant fields carefully. Submit the application to generate application number.
